Metrolink painting begins

Today the painting has started.

The silver grey and yellow are spray cans, the black is brush painted to save on masking !

Primer job

The Metrolink has now had several coats of primer with rub downs and fills in between

I have used a regular "rattle can" car primer and also a High Build primer in some areas,
hence the slight two tone appearance.

There is a Metrolink in my garden !

Its sunny and the grass has been cut, that always tempts something out onto the tracks.. Today its a tram !

It still needs details and a paint job, but its getting closer to looking like a Metrolink.

Roof Details

If you see a Metrolink in the street you don't realise how much detail is on the roof !
Below is the view most of us see, in fact this is more elevated than a street view

But from above there is all sorts of equipment. Its very rare to get a view of the roof, I have spent ages on Google. So I had to put on my "train spotter anorak" and go find a foot bridge.
Armed with a limited number of pictures taken at a distance I have started to add the roof details

Minor Changes

With most models a point is reached when only small changes and details are added but take a long time.
Detailing does produce big visual difference but enhance the overall look. This is the case in this post.

Main items.
More front end details (three stripes)
More front window frame details so they now accept the glazing as a flush fitting unit.
Cab roof vent
